Make up Guide: Trends For Summer 2016 | Guest Post

Hello Lovelies!
I hope you are all well? And if you’re in the UK right now I hope you’re making the most of this stunning weather!

Today is something different for you. This is my first ever guest post up on JaydeDanielle. It is by an amazing writer called Peter Minkoff, who is a Fashion and Beauty editor at HighStyleLife.

Make up Guide: Trends For Summer 2016

The arrival of two most beloved seasons of the year is always accompanied with the conversations about the latest trends. This year is no different. Just as we are looking at fashion shows announcing the clothing trends, we are observing the models to see what are the new things makeup artist invented, or the old things they have simply reinvented. Many of the fashion shows have brought us interesting looks. To save you the trouble of watching all the fashion weeks and other events, we have carefully selected some of the most fabulous ones.

Go Gold or Go Home

Let us start with the look which requires the most boldness. This trend comes from none other than the leading authority in trend pushing – Prada. At Prada runways for spring/summer 2016 models wore conspicuous gold lipstick. Since the metallic is so huge this year, it is no wonder we are loving this unique look. Gold lips are giving you a bit futuristic look, so make sure that, if you are rocking this trend, you bypass a painted brow or eye in favor of a gilded lip.

Blue Keeps Getting Bluer

Nicely accentuated eyes are all the rage this season, and as we are shown by Missoni, Chanel and many others, there is no better color to choose than blue. There were many takes on this trend, from painting the entire eyelid to quirky shapes, but what caught our eyes the most was the Nineties’ variety. This style means surrounding your eye with an electric blue liner in fine thin lines. If you decide to wear this trend, ditch the lipstick or use nude lip balm, not to go overboard with colors.

Bare Face Minimalism

The enduring popularity of bare-face trend is even more in focus than earlier. At Isabel Marant we could see models without (at least it looked that way) makeup and with a radiant complexion. This natural look, however, does not translate to “I woke up this beautiful” and it still requires some effort, unless you are born with the perfect skin. One of the trends currently conquering the beauty world is mineral make up, launched by Skin Matrix. This formulation will not only help you achieve current natural bare-faced effects, but it will also make your skin healthier, long term.

Take It to the Max

From minimalism, we move on to the year’s surprise trend – maximalism. This look is all about individuality and finding your own way to wear striking make up. Holly Fulton and Giamba, for instance, presented us the trend of neon and glittery neon eyes, while Marni awed us with spidery lashes. It is obvious that this can easily become a season to run wild and experiment with different looks – half measures are not allowed.

Creatures of the Wind brought back the punky ‘90s girl on the runway and it is just as amazing as it sounds. This is the right look to go for if you consider yourself to be a girl with an attitude. The two major characteristics of this trend are disheveled hair and dramatic eyes. Add to that a bit of street luxury and you have got yourself a hit. The main formula for the eyes is: the dark aerodynamic cat eye (black liner) + chunky gold glittery shadow.

Glamour on the Lips

This trend is a take on bare-faced minimalism combined with the good old bright red lipstick look. As we could see on Jason Wu’s models, the skin was bare, youthful and well hydrated, while all the focus was put on lips, with distinctively red lipstick. For this look, you will need only a quality red lipstick, since there are no mascara, foundation, eye shadow and the rest of the tools, involved.

These were our six favorite looks. Try them all and choose the one you like the most to be your signature look this season.
