Yes you read the title right.
A cake that comes through your letterbox!
As you probably know I have a HUGE sweet tooth, mostly anything that has sugar in it I will love.
So when I saw that BakerDays offered cakes to be posted through your door I just had to try one!
BakerDays offer personalised cakes that stay fresh for up to 14 days (Although let’s be honest, the cake probably will be eaten by then!) They offer a huge range of designs for different occasions or you can create your very own design by uploading a picture and message. They also offer a selection of different sponge to cater for everybody, the options to choose from are the classic vanilla sponge, chocolate with chocolate chips and fruit cake. Not only that but they also offer a dairy free and gluten free option!
All cakes come with candles and balloons and if you opt for the large cake then you also get a free cake slicer.
The Letterbox cake came in a gorgeous tin that I will be putting to use now I have finished all of the cake!
Considering the cake has been delivered and possibly bashed around by MR Postman (not purposefully) there was not a single mark and it was perfectly presented. However since this is a letterbox cake it is supposed to come through the letterbox… But my postman decided to knock instead and hand it to me haha! I picked the design of the cake myself from their pre made designs and asked for them to write JaydeDanielle on. I never realised though before I ordered it that it says “Happy Birthday” on the cake! As my birthday was only last month I’ll just pretend it’s a belated birthday cake :D.
On the website it says the Letterbox cake is a 5 inch cake and serves 3-4 portions. I managed to get about 9 portions out of this by having small slices. I’m not normally a fan of plain sponge as I find it to be quite dry and tasteless but surprisingly I really enjoyed this cake and the sponge was not dry at all.
The delivery for the cakes are really good. I ordered this on the Thursday and it was here by Saturday morning! I do feel that for a cake of this size £14.99 is a tad bit over what I would be happy spending, unless perhaps it was a very special occasion.
