I have to admit that I am terrible at keeping a good Skincare Routine. I tend to wash my makeup off in the bath using water alone, this is purely due to the fact that the majority of Skincare products I have tried made my skin break out or turn my skin either like it was dipped into a chip pan or like crocodile skin. But every year around Spring time I get a patch of dry red irritated skin, always in the same place. I therefore went on a mission to try and rid this.
I recently received my Latest In Beauty Dream Box 3 and inside this Wonderful box was a little pot of cleansing gel called Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser. I have been using this product for about 2 weeks now and unfortunately I have used it all up as it was only a small pot.
The ingredients in this cleanser are designed to give you brighter more nourished skin, due to it containing Vitamin C, Rose Hip Oil and Virgin Cherry Oil. This cleanser is orange in colour and a gel consistency. When you apply the gel onto dry skin and massage it in, it turns into a oil which removes your makeup, when water is added it turns into a hydrating milk. It works very well in removing even stubborn makeup. I don’t use a cloth to wipe the cleanser off as recommended but instead rinse my face off with water as I feel it works better for me personally. I have had sore eyes a few times after using this product and after reading the ingredients assume it’s to do with the Lemon Peel Oil it contains. Honestly I didn’t think Lemon Oil would be a good thing for my skin considering I have combination skin and lemon oil dries it out more-so. Saying this though I have noticed a change in my skin and it is for the better. The cleanser leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated, it has also miraculously improved my irritated dry patch. No it hasn’t completely gone but it isn’t as red and angry now. This may be due to the Virgin Cherry Oil contained in the cleanser which helps reduce redness and hydrates skin. Whatever it may be, it works.
It doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy after use or dry it out, it gave me the perfect balance.
For a 15ml pot it will cost around £9.99, this is the perfect size for travelling as it lasts roughly 2 weeks. For a 100ml pot you’re looking at around £24.99. This should last a good couple of months though as you only need to use it sparingly, a little goes a long way, especially when activated with water.
Have you tried the Ole Henriksen Cleanser before? Or are you tempted to try it?
