I love Glossybox Days! There’s just something about receiving a package when you don’t know what little gems are hidden inside that brings out the inner child in me!
I’ve been subscribed to glossybox for about 7 months now and it has never let my expectations down. It has a great price tag at just £13 a month including P&P.
All the products were just so amazing that I just had to try them straight away!
First we have the NOABAY Moisturizing Peeling
This may just be me but I don’t like the name of this, I think it would be more fitting to call it “Moisturizing Scrub” as that’s what this is.. A scrub. At first glance I thought it was a peeling face mask that left your skin moisturized. This is due to it having no instructions or description on the packaging at all.
The packaging is a white tube with a wooden effect screw lid. I do like the simplicity of this but I do think it could of at least had instructions on.
It says on the glossybox leaflet that comes included that it’s a peeling milk containing particles from the acai tree to remove dulling dead skin cells. I do agree with this, it is a milky consistency with teeny tiny beads in.
I applied this to damp skin and gently massaged in a circular motion for roughly 30 seconds then rinsed with lukewarm water. My skin did feel moisturized and very soft afterwards, which I normally struggle to achieve with a facial scrub. I did really enjoy the effects of this product and I will be purchasing another one when it runs out. The 100ml tube can be purchased for £13.71.
Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara
As soon as I saw this my first thought was “Oh, what cute packaging” I’m a sucker for cute and girly packaging. The design on the handle is also rubber which makes for a better grip when applying the mascara. The brush which is named the “cobra-brush” is excellent as it has a slight curve on the top which I think is ideal for getting curl on your lashes. I can’t really say that it created length but it did give me jet black, non clumpy eyelashes. For just £3.30 I think this is a winner.
Dove Advanced Hair Series- Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner
When I saw this in my box I was so excited to try it out as I said before Dove Shampoo and Conditioner is my favourite. And as this said on the leaflet that “it works to replenish lost nutrients so hair is left stronger, sleeker and looking twice as thick” I thought Brilliant! I need thicker looking hair. I was unfortunately left disappointed. Yes it left my hair feeling softer and more nourished, as all dove shampoos and conditioners do. I didn’t notice thicker, stronger looking hair. Maybe this is due to the fact that I need to use it a few more times to notice any difference? This is £5.99 for a 250ml bottle.
ncLA Nail Lacquer- Like…Totally Valley Girl
ncLA nails varnishes are 5 Free meaning they are free of any DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde, also of camphor and animal testing. This pastel pink is perfect for the Spring and Summer months. This is a medium sized brush which I think are the best size for perfect, even strokes. The colour is very pigmented you could easily settle for one coat. The polish is fast drying, I also painted my nails yesterday and still have no chips! For a 15ml bottle the price tag is £13 which I do think is a bit on the pricey side but they are cruelty free and vegan so I guess you do get what you pay for.
Sleek MakeUp Pout Paint
This lip stain shade is called Lava and it’s a vibrant orange with red tones.Sleek say that you can mix these Pout Paints to make your own unique shade which I think is an amazing idea. It states on the tube a little goes a long way, they sure weren’t kidding! I applied a bit to my finger as I didn’t want to squirt the tube straight onto my lips incase too much came out. The colour is highly pigmented, it’s also very glossy. I dabbed a tiny bit onto my lips and i’m actually really impressed with the results. Yes it doesn’t look as bright as it does on the swatch but to be honest I don’t want it to. I did experiment and put a bit more on, then I looked like a little kid who had been playing in her mums makeup bag. It just felt too bright and glossy for my liking. I can’t wait to purchase some more of these Pout Paints, these are just £4.99 for an 8ml tube. Because you only need to apply a tiny bit too they should last a long time.
Thank you for reading.
